2. Chrome Permissions & How They Are Used

To perform its automated study assistance features, the extension requests the following browser permissions:

• storage: Used strictly to save your local UI preferences (such as English or Vietnamese interface language) and your optional personal AI API keys directly inside your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local).
• activeTab & tabs: Used solely to verify if the active browser tab is an authorized Coursera learning URL when you interact with the extension popup or floating widget.
• Host Permission: https://www.coursera.org/*: Used exclusively to interact directly with Coursera's official course progression endpoints on your behalf using your existing active browser session. Session tokens (e.g. CAUTH) are never exported or exfiltrated outside your browser.
• Host Permissions: https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/*, https://api.openai.com/*, https://api.groq.com/*: Used only if you optionally provide your personal AI API key (Google Gemini, OpenAI, or Groq) to assist with quiz study. Prompts are transmitted directly and securely from your browser to the official provider endpoint. No keys or prompts ever pass through any third-party or developer server.

3. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your data with any third parties or advertisers. External communication only occurs directly between your client browser and the respective AI platform API if you choose to input your personal API key.
